Merry meet, fellow witches, and witchy friends!
With December literally coming tomorrow, Yule is just around the corner. However, I will be discussing Yule in next week’s newsletter. This week, I will be talking about what I did for Thanksgiving.
Turkey, Family, & Friends
This year, my family and I had a small get together with one of my best friends and his wife. My fiance made a very delicious turkey, we had classic mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese, as well as some apple pie. We also played You Don’t Know Jack for a while and ate some cheese ball.
Yule
I am also very excited about celebrating Yule for the first time this year. We normally celebrate Christmas but this will be the first time my family and I put some Pagan elements into it. My fiance and I will be making a Yule Log cake and I will be wishing my deities a Happy Yule. I would love to know what you guys are planning on doing with Yule this year!
Coven Updates
For the past week, the leaders of my coven (myself included) were teaching the other members about different forms of Divination. I was teaching about Tarot while another leader, Scarlett Lunair, was teaching about the Pendulum. All in all, it was very fun. And I’m looking forward to next time when our other leader, Forest Reign, will be teaching us all about Runes.
Another thing I did this week was help my fiance with making a clay figurine of one of my deities. They were originally going to make figurines of both deities I connect with as Christmas presents for me, but they soon realized that they needed my help with the details, so I got to see them early. This is the figurine of my god, Ganesha. The statue of Gaia is going to be made from a Barbie or Monster High doll, so we will see how that goes.
Do you have plans for Yule? What did you end up doing for Thanksgiving? I would love to know!
For this week’s recommendation, I recommend the book Green Witchcraft: A Practical Guide to Discovering the Magic of Plants, Herbs, Crystals, and Beyond by Paige Vanderbeck.
For someone who wants to know more about green witchcraft and nature as a whole on a magical level, I really recommend this book. There are even some spells in this book that use things from nature. There is one spell I really like. It has to do with the LGBTQ+ community actually.
All together, I give this book a 9/10. The only reason that it isn’t a 10/10 is that at the beginning, the author talks a little bit about the Wicca religion. Gerald Gardner did not create the Wicca religion. He only popularized it.
If you want to learn more about the craft, interested in what I post, or want to share your own experiences, you can connect with me here…
On Medium, I post articles about witchcraft for baby witches.
On Twitter, I have segments like #WitchyWisdom which I post every Wednesday, #TarotTuesday which is every Tuesday, and #FridayFamiliars every Friday.
I am now currently doing Tarot readings if anyone is interested. All the details are on my Twitter page; they are pinned to my profile.
Blessed be, friends!
